Maifest

You didn't think that we forgot about the spring version of Oktoberfest, did you? NEVER! We're gonna let you in on a little Bavarian secret: it's just as fun to drink lagerbier when the weather is starting to warm up and flowers are popping as it is when the leaves are falling and the air is crisp. So save this date, Saturday May 09!

Just like in years past we'll be partying all day in our taproom and biergarten (now with more flowers):

Beer release: "Maypole," our traditional malty Maibock has been slumbering all spring and will finally be ready for mug-time.

The Chester Dog House will be grilling in the upper beer garden!

DIY Flower crowns will be set up in the back of the brewery.

As always, dress to impress and dust off your dirndl and lederhosen! Share your photos by tagging @littlehousebrew on social media!

LIVE MUSIC: JT Shavers from 6-9 PM

We might have a few other surprises up our sleeve. Make sure you're here so you don't miss it!

Prost!

May Book: Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

About the Book
Dive into a world torn apart by a powerful race with phenomenal powers of the mind—and none of the heart . . . In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of “rehabilitation”—the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was . . . Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy co-existence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion—and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities—or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation . . .

About the Author
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I spent three years living and working in Japan, where I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page. I’ve worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher, but not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency, but I call it grist for the writer’s mill. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. All of my stories held a thread of romance, even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes. Creating unique characters and giving them happy endings is my favorite thing. I even love the voices in my head, so there’s no other job I’d rather be doing. When I got the call in September 2002 that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.

mo andres is a musician & performance artist who sings about healing. their original alternative-folk music is inspired by their roots in the foothills of the blue ridge mountains, and, of course, their journey in love and grief: the journey home, wherever that may be.

mo’s recent project “highway hypnosis” is a story of self-discovery told through snapshots of interstate 81, running from their hometown of Toccoa, Georgia, to their current base of Middletown, Connecticut. Beyond music, you might find them creating generative theater with local collaborators, or dancing in a random field somewhere.

Much like the highway, mo is always under construction.

Robi Polgar is a singer-songwriter and guitarist, recently relocated from Austin, Texas, to Glastonbury.

He matches his big soft spot for the music of the British Invasions (Beatlemania to the post-punk 1980s — Elvis Costello, Pretenders, Blondie, Squeeze, Crowded House, etc.) with an ample catalog of American rock from the ’70s and ’80s, folk songs, some jazzier material, plus lots of his own stuff.

Since arriving in Connecticut, Robi has played area bars, restaurants, coffee houses, farmers’ markets and down by the riverside as well as a handful of festivals. June Book: Like in Love with You by Emma R. Alban

About the Book
When country-bred Catherine Pine relocates to Bath in 1817, she and her mother come face-to-face with her mother’s arch nemesis, Lady Tisend, and her daughter, the wildly popular and gorgeous Lady Rosalie. Though once her very best friend, Mrs. Pine alleges Lady Tisend ultimately did her a great injustice. Twenty-five years later, she sees the perfect opportunity for retribution: Catherine will win the favor of Lady Rosalie’s suitor, Mr. Dean. Together, Catherine and her mother will ruin the Tisends’ lives, secure Catherine a fruitful match, and launch a fully triumphant return to Bath. It’s the perfect plan for revenge. Only Catherine soon discovers that there’s more to Lady Rosalie’s mean streak than meets the eye. Lady Rosalie is by far the wittiest, cleverest, most intriguing young woman Catherine’s ever met, and she’s utterly smitten. Meanwhile, Rosalie feels trapped in her perfect life as Bath’s favorite daughter and resident mean girl. There’s no challenge anymore, no excitement, no surprise. But when she notices newcomer Catherine gunning for her spot as queen bee, Rosalie finally feels a spark again. She determines to meet Catherine’s challenge with gusto, because Catherine ignites something in her. Something Rosalie absolutely doesn’t want to extinguish. As their mothers force them into increasingly absurd contests of wit and feminine charms to win Mr. Dean’s affections, Rosalie and Catherine instead find themselves falling for each other, scheme, by barb, by catty jab… Can their sizzling rivalry really become a match to last?

About the Author
Raised in the Hudson Valley, Emma now lives in Los Angeles, enjoying the eternal sunshine, ocean, and mountains. When she isn't writing books or screenplays, she can usually be found stress baking with the AC on full blast, skiing late into the spring, singing showtunes at the top of her lungs on the freeway, and reading anywhere there’s somewhere to lean.

July Book: August Lane by Regina Black

About the Book
A Black country music star who lied about writing his only hit risks his comeback to reunite with the woman he stole it from, a first love the lyrics won’t let him forget. Every Thursday night, former country music heartthrob Luke Randall has to sing “Another Love Song.” God, he hates that song. But performing his lone hit at an interstate motel lounge is the only regular money he still has. Following another lackluster performance at the rock bottom of his career, Luke receives the opportunity of his dreams, opening for his childhood idol—90’s era Black country music star, JoJo Lane, who’s being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. But the concert is in Arcadia, Arkansas, the small hometown he swore he’d never see again. Going back means facing a painful past of abuse and neglect. It also means facing JoJo’s daughter, August Lane—the woman who wrote the lyrics he’s always claimed as his own. August also hates that song. But she hates Luke Randall even more. When he shows up ten years too late to apologize for his betrayal, she isn’t interested in making amends. Instead, she threatens to expose his lies unless he co-writes a new song with her and performs it at the concert, something she hopes will launch her out of her mother’s shadow and into a songwriting career of her own. Desperate to keep his secret, Luke agrees to put on the rogue performance, despite the risk of losing his shot at a new record deal. When Luke’s guitar reunites with August’s soulful alto, neither can deny that the passionate bond they formed as teenagers is still there. As the concert nears, August will have to choose between an overdue public reckoning with the boy who betrayed her, or trusting the man he’s become to write a different love song.

Gallery Opening & Meet the Artist: Aidan Neely

Gallery Opening & Meet the Artist: Aidan Neely
First Friday: August 07 | 5 PM
Featuring images from Downtown Chester and the surrounding shoreline area. A mix of line drawings and paintings.

________

Aidan Neely is an accomplished artist and longtime resident of Middlesex County in CT, currently residing in the picturesque town of Chester with his loving wife and son. His artistic talents span a diverse range, encompassing both painting and fine line drawing.

Having a background in architecture, Aidan's journey in the world of art started with numerous achievements in design and drawing competitions during his schooling years. Inspired by his mother, who was also an artist, he embarked on a transformative artistic path. Over the years, Aidan honed his skills by participating in various fine arts outdoor festivals, where he had the privilege of learning from and being mentored by local great artists. These experiences helped him cultivate his unique style of drawing and painting, which stands out as a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary influences.

Aidan's acrylic paintings predominantly feature landscapes and objects, with a special fondness for seafood still life compositions and occasional portraits. His masterful brushwork and vibrant color choices bring life and energy to each canvas, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of the scenes depicted.

In addition to his paintings, Aidan's fine line pen and ink drawings have garnered much attention and admiration, particularly for their focus on local buildings, especially those in Chester. With great reverence for the town's historical charm, he skillfully captures the essence of these beloved structures, evoking a sense of nostalgia that resonates with the locals and visitors alike.

Aidan's art is part of a showing at Little House Brewing, nestled in the heart of downtown Chester, CT, throughout June and July 2025. The exhibition will showcase his exquisite pen and ink drawings of local buildings, providing art enthusiasts with an opportunity to relish the beauty of the town's architectural heritage as well as his acrylic paintings. Limited edition prints of these drawings will also be available for purchase, allowing art lovers to cherish a piece of Chester's essence within the walls of their own homes.

Aidan Neely invites all to join him at the exhibition and experience the passion and love of Chester that permeates his artwork. Through his brushstrokes and pen lines, he weaves a visual narrative that captivates the imagination and celebrates the timeless charm of Chester, CT.

August Book: Rumors & Whiskey by Victoria Wilder

About the Book
In Rumor, Tennessee, one family sits at the center of every whisper.
The Crowne women have survived decades of salacious gossip. Everyone knows you can count on them for a shot of whiskey and a wild night, but their best kept secret is how they deliver quiet revenge. I survived a living nightmare. Forced to stay away from my sisters, I’ve been sworn to secrecy about who I am. Somehow, though, I started over again. But all it takes to mess everything up is a sexy stranger—a charming jeweler with a sinful smile, deliciously dirty promises, and far too many questions. Now, I’m back in my small town, craving routine, hiding my past, and trying not to drown in the pressure to be the old me. I never expected to see him again. Especially once I discover that the gossip and rumors swirling around my family aren’t the work of bored townies, but of hidden truths. Between a dead body, a missing cop, and a job that’s connected him to my family, Julian Colton insists on staying here. I should keep my distance—not provoke and flirt with him at every turn. But even with layers of secrets between us, he soothes my anxious thoughts and feeds my touch-starved, broken body. When his past catches up with him, and mine threatens to repeat itself, it’s my family, their rumors, and our whiskey that’ll save us.

About the Author
Forever a hopeful romantic, author Victoria Wilder writes contemporary romance with deliciously witty and wild characters. Her stories range from small-town swoon-worthy men to fiercely powerful families and lead characters who aren't afraid to ask for what they want. She's an east coast girl, always chasing the next season and living it up with her husband, two kiddos, and dog, Linus. When she's not reading or writing, you'll find her training at a kickboxing class or finding an excuse to sink her feet in the sand at the beach. She believes in the power of a great story. That words have the ability to change the trajectory of your life. And that a new pair of sneakers can be just as powerful as heels to put you in the right mood.

Live Music: mo andres

mo andres is a musician & performance artist who sings about healing. their original alternative-folk music is inspired by their roots in the foothills of the blue ridge mountains, and, of course, their journey in love and grief: the journey home, wherever that may be.

mo’s recent project “highway hypnosis” is a story of self-discovery told through snapshots of interstate 81, running from their hometown of Toccoa, Georgia, to their current base of Middletown, Connecticut. Beyond music, you might find them creating generative theater with local collaborators, or dancing in a random field somewhere.

Much like the highway, mo is always under construction.

September Book: The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert

About the Book
From bestselling author Talia Hibbert comes a story of wicked royals, fake engagements, and the fed-up office worker trapped in the midst of it all… Cherry Neita is thirty, flirty, and done with men. As far as she can tell, they’re overrated, overpaid, and underperforming – in every area of life. But a girl has needs, and the smoking-hot stranger she just met at the office seems like the perfect one-night stand… Prince Ruben of Helgmøre is reckless, dominant, and famously filthy. The outcast royal is rebuilding his reputation – all for a good cause – but he can’t resist a pretty face. And bossy whirlwind Cherry’s got the face, the body, and the attitude to make Ruben’s convictions crumble. Even better, when she propositions him, she has no idea who he really is. But when paparazzi catch the pair, erm, kissing in an alleyway, Ruben’s anonymity disappears faster than Cherry’s knickers. Now the press is in uproar, the palace is outraged, and Ruben’s reputation is back in the gutter. There’s only one way to turn this disaster around – and it involves Cherry, some big fat lies, and a flashy diamond ring. On her left hand. Unfortunately, Cherry isn’t pleased with Ruben’s ‘fake engagement’ scheme… and neither is the king. The Princess Trap is a steamy, diverse royal romance featuring a take-no-sh*t heroine and a misunderstood hero fighting to survive life at the palace. There’s fake relationship fluff, a healthy dose of angst, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after. Please be aware this story contains scenes of abuse that could trigger certain audiences.

About the Author
Talia Hibbert is a New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author whose books are available in 15 languages. Best known for her Brown Sisters series, Talia writes spicy, inclusive romance novels starring complicated characters who make readers feel seen. Talia's debut romantasy will hit shelves in Summer 2026. A typically cantankerous Brit, Talia's hobbies include chugging cups of tea, eating too many biscuits, and complaining bitterly about the weather.

mo andres is a musician & performance artist who sings about healing. their original alternative-folk music is inspired by their roots in the foothills of the blue ridge mountains, and, of course, their journey in love and grief: the journey home, wherever that may be.

mo’s recent project “highway hypnosis” is a story of self-discovery told through snapshots of interstate 81, running from their hometown of Toccoa, Georgia, to their current base of Middletown, Connecticut. Beyond music, you might find them creating generative theater with local collaborators, or dancing in a random field somewhere.

Much like the highway, mo is always under construction.

Live Music: Robi Polgar

During the balmy months, you can find him strumming and warbling at his Friday happy hour residency at the local farm stand around the corner from his house.

April Book: The Second Death of Locke by V.L. Bovalino

About the Book
Grey Flynn has dedicated her life to her mage, Kier. She will be his blade on the battlefield, his healer and protector. The deep well of raw power inside her is Kier's to use. Grey would do anything for Kier - be anything for him - if he would only ask. When a quest to protect the child of an enemy kingdom pulls them into the dangerous heart of their nation's war, Grey and Kier will need to decide what they are willing to sacrifice to protect their secret. For Grey is no ordinary magical well, but heir to the lost island of Locke - the root of all power. If she dies, all magic dies with her. The Second Death of Locke is a devastatingly romantic epic fantasy and about the undying bond between a knight and their mage, perfect for fans of The Knight and the Moth and The Six Deaths of the Saint.

March Book: The Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura

About the Book
Rival archaeologists must team up on a secret Aztec expedition, or it could leave their careers--and hearts--in ruins. Archaeologist Dr. Socorro "Corrie" Mejía has a bone to pick. Literally. It's been Corrie's life goal to lead an expedition deep into the Mexican jungle in search of the long-lost remains of her ancestor, Chimalli, an ancient warrior of the Aztec empire. But when she is invited to join an all-expenses-paid dig to do just that, Corrie is sure it's too good to be true...and she's right. As the world-renowned expert on Chimalli, by rights Corrie should be leading the expedition, not sharing the glory with her disgustingly handsome nemesis. But Dr. Ford Matthews has been finding new ways to best her since they were in grad school. Ford certainly isn't thrilled either--with his life in shambles, the last thing he needs is a reminder of their rocky past. But as the dig begins, it becomes clear they'll need to work together when they realize a thief is lurking around their campsite, forcing the pair to keep their discoveries--and lingering attraction--under wraps. With money-hungry artifact smugglers, the Mexican authorities, and the lies between them closing in, there's only one way this all ends--explosively.

USA Today bestselling author Jo Segura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her doggo, who vies for her attention with his sweet puppy dog eyes whenever she’s trying to write. Jo's stories feature strong, passionate heroines and draw upon aspects of her life, such as her love of good food and great cocktails, dancing, her Mexican heritage, and her fascination with archaeology which inspired her debut romcom, RAIDERS OF THE LOST HEART, published December 2023 by Berkley Romance, and the forthcoming sequel, TEMPLE OF SWOON (Jan. 7, 2025). When she’s not writing you can find her practicing law, perusing the aisles at Trader Joe's, or sitting out on the patio doing Buzzfeed quizzes (though she doesn’t care what the chicken nugget quiz said–her favorite fruit is not banana).

Live Music: Robi Polgar

During the balmy months, you can find him strumming and warbling at his Friday happy hour residency at the local farm stand around the corner from his house.

Live Music: Just Jeff

Jeff has been playing acoustic rock music, ranging from the 60's thru the mid-2000's, throughout the state for over 30 years! He started out in the early 90s playing around the Hartford area with several different bands, took a hiatus to raise a family, and is now a music staple in the Valley area! His ever present 12 string guitar, his relaxed, easy going, fun loving (and often times just plain funny!) manner and style is one of his main draws, along with his incredibly diverse range of music types!
