Live Music: Zach Andersen
After breaking his neck, all Zach Andersen could do during the recuperation process was play video games and learn to play guitar. Once he was all healed, he jokingly thought it would be fun to write his own songs. A few minutes later, this joke turned into a new passion and the formation of The Andersen Brothers (or something like that). Along with his brother, Eric, Zach took the local music scene by storm with their catchy, relatable and nostalgic songs. Their first album, "Unrequited Daze", was released in 2011 and contained crowd favorite "However Hard She Tries" and several other TAB classics.
While TABoslt is on hiatus, Zach continues to write and record song after song, album after album, releasing 3 studio albums, 3 live albums, and 7 singles over the past decade. You can also see Zach perform solo acoustic at all your favorite intimate venues, busy streets, packed conventions, or from the comfort of your computer screen.
Zach will make you laugh, cry, clap, sing along, and leave you with a song in your head and a smile on your face.

November Book: The Nightmare Before Kissmas by Sara Raasch
About the Book
Nicholas “Coal” Claus used to love Christmas. Until his father, the reigning Santa, turned the holiday into a PR façade. Coal will do anything to escape the spectacle, including getting tangled in a drunken, supremely hot make- out session with a beautiful man behind a seedy bar one night. But the heir to Christmas is soon commanded to do his duty: he will marry his best friend, Iris, the Easter Princess and his brother’s not-so-secret crush. A situation that has disaster written all over it. Things go from bad to worse when a rival arrives to challenge Coal for the princess’s hand…and Coal comes face-to-face with his mysterious behind-the-bar hottie: Hex, the Prince of Halloween. It’s a fake competition between two holiday princes who can’t keep their hands off each other over a marriage of convenience that no one wants. And it all leads to one of the sweetest, sexiest, messiest, most delightfully unforgettable love stories of the year.
About the Author
Sara Raasch has known she was destined for bookish things since the age of five, when her friends had a lemonade stand and she tagged along to sell her hand-drawn picture books too. Not much has changed since then — her friends still cock concerned eyebrows when she attempts to draw things and her enthusiasm for the written word still drives her to extreme measures. Her debut YA fantasy, SNOW LIKE ASHES, the first in a trilogy, came out October 14, 2014 from Balzer + Bray. It does not feature her hand-drawn pictures.

October Book: The Undertaking of Heart and Mercy by Megan Bannen
About the Book
Hart is a marshal, tasked with patrolling the strange and magical wilds of Tanria. It’s an unforgiving job, and Hart’s got nothing but time to ponder his loneliness. Mercy never has a moment to herself. She’s been single-handedly keeping Birdsall & Son Undertakers afloat in defiance of sullen jerks like Hart, who seems to have a gift for showing up right when her patience is thinnest. After yet another exasperating run-in with Mercy, Hart finds himself penning a letter addressed simply to “A Friend”. Much to his surprise, an anonymous letter comes back in return, and a tentative friendship is born. If only Hart knew he’s been baring his soul to the person who infuriates him most – Mercy. As the dangers from Tanria grow closer, so do the unlikely correspondents. But can their blossoming romance survive the fated discovery that their pen pals are their worst nightmares – each other?

September Book: Roll for Romance by Lenora Woods
About the Book
For years, Sadie Brooks has declined her best friend’s standing invitation to join his Dungeons & Dragons campaign. But when she unexpectedly loses her marketing job and flees New York City to spend the summer with him in small-town Texas, she also runs out of excuses to say no. In the game, she becomes Jaylie, a powerful and self-assured human cleric blessed by the Goddess of Luck with spells to heal her companions. But in real life, Sadie believes her luck has run out, and she hopes the distraction will give her time to clear her head and plan next steps. She never expected Noah Walker—the handsome, outgoing bartender roped into joining them—to factor into that plan. Like Sadie, he’s new in town. But with a taste for adventure, Noah never stays in one place for long. He’s something of a traveling bard—just like his character Loren, the charismatic, lute-strumming elf. While Jaylie finds herself succumbing to the bard’s charms over the course of their party’s travels, Sadie also begins to fall under Noah’s spell. As their relationship progresses in both worlds, Sadie can’t help but wonder if they might last beyond the game. But when a surprising new opportunity opens in New York, she must face the truth about why she lost her job in the first place—and whether she and Noah have found something in Texas worth staying for. Torn between her career dreams in the city and the exciting uncertainty of a new adventure, she will have no choice but to roll the dice.

--
Alternative tragic Americana, invocations for peace & judgment reshaping with bleeding heart stream of consciousness poems.
Originally from Connecticut, before becoming a western transplant, Anna May is a singular artist whose songs bear a placelessness that lends to their timeless nature.
The deep exploration of heartbreak and trauma has been an ongoing quest throughout Anna's work. Her lyrics have been heavily textured by a lonesome whimsicality that finds itself most at home in the vastness of the American West.
Anna's music honors the nomadic spirit with memory, meditation & fresh interpretations of folk music and jazz influence. She honors a hope to enhance connection, humility, healing, and joy among people in the process of parting with typical genre rules.
Anna's lyrical sensibility is steeped in wisdom, and layered with evocative musicality and metaphysical embroidery while eschewing the mainstream & parting with platitudes. Anna explores both estrangement and connection while taking cues from artists like Billie Holiday, Shawn Colvin, Neil Young, and Leonard Cohen.
As a yogi, pianist, teacher & poet, she masterfully blends all of her influences into her songwriting. Her songs are tender, immersive, moodscapes & a deep dive into introspective, meditative soundscapery with an expansive, western folk flare, while exploring the fragile intersection of nature & humanity.
Ethereal & whimsical, sensitive & heavy, Anna blends the musical influence of her classical, folk & jazz rooted upbringing, into a wholly unique creative trajectory. From a youth spent submerged in sonic textures, to teenage years discovering visionaries of folk & authenticity, like Dylan & many others, Anna has over time deepened the resonance, resolve and clarity of a voice that is distinctly her own and that craves truthful expression. She has as much an affinity for jazz and fifties pop as she does for folk & 90s alternative, all serving to enhance the understated power of her songs, with an ultimate quest for the healing medicine of meditation & a great need to explore weighty societal & spiritual themes & concepts of social justice.
Anna has opened for artists like Amythyst Kiah, People Museum & Jann Klose. Anna has performed at wildflower music & arts festival, treefort music festival, boston arts festival, water lantern festival, trout lake hall, abbey arts in seattle, Globe Hall in Denver, Club Passim in Boston, Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, Broadway Comedy Club in Manhattan, the Mint in Los Angeles, Spiderhouse Ballroom in Austin, Rockwood Music Hall in Boston and many more.
Live Music: Ralph Marcario
Ralph “E. Boy” Marcario is a musician on the eastern Shoreline. A member of multiple CT-based bands including Jam Chowder and Yesterday Today, he brings his piano, guitar, vocals and general tomfoolery to his classic rock solo/acoustic project. You will leave his shows singing and smiling!
